06 / Power & Deliver
Power is the constraint. So we build it.
Across data centers, industrial facilities, and new communities, the binding constraint is no longer land or capital. It is an interconnection queue measured in years.
Building our own generation is how a project gets energized on the owner's schedule instead of the utility's.
On-site generation
Distributed generation sized to the facility and its load profile, designed alongside the building rather than bolted on after the fact. When the same company builds the structure and the power plant, the two schedules are one schedule.
Solid oxide fuel cells
Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems generate power electrochemically on site, running continuously at high efficiency with no combustion. For a facility that needs firm, always on power without waiting on a transmission upgrade, they are often the fastest path to energized.
Small modular reactors
Small modular reactor (SMR) solutions for loads that need firm, carbon free baseload measured in decades rather than hours. The reactor island is a licensed, factory built product. The work around it, the site, the civil and structural scope, the balance of plant, and the tie in to the facility, is the work we do on every other generation project.
An SMR schedule is set by licensing and long lead fabrication, not by construction. We treat those as development problems and start on them early, the same way we treat queue position on a conventional project.
Hydrogen battery power
A hydrogen battery stores energy as hydrogen rather than in cells. Surplus or off peak power runs an electrolyzer, the hydrogen is stored on site, and a fuel cell converts it back to electricity when the facility needs it. Unlike a lithium system sized in hours, capacity is a function of how much hydrogen you keep, which makes multi day backup practical.
- Long duration storage for outages measured in days, not hours
- No combustion and no emissions at the point of generation
- Pairs with on site generation to firm an intermittent supply
- Sited, installed, and tied into the electrical distribution we self-perform
Microgrids and resilience
A microgrid ties generation, storage, and load together so a facility can island from the grid and keep running. For mission critical and federal work, that is not a sustainability feature. It is the whole point.
- Generation, storage, and controls designed as one system
- Islanding capability for continuity during grid outages
- Load management across a campus or community
- Integration with the building systems we self-perform
